Qi Gong and infertility

Qi Gong and infertility

Qi Gong is a thousand-year-old Chinese form of exercise based on the Tao philosophy, which considers the free circulation of energy in the body to be essential. Any obstacle or anomaly in the circulation of energy can be a source of trouble, including infertility.

Gi Gong is a combination of slow movements, breathing exercises and meditation.

The movements are designed to ensure the harmonious circulation of vital energy in the body along the meridians (also used in acupuncture), an invisible network through which energy flows.

Qi Gong can be useful, psychologically during infertility treatment, as it teaches the patient to eliminate negative emotions and boosts self-confidence, a significant factor in successful IVF. The psyche is often at the root of unexplained infertility due to the blockages it causes.

Some movements can stimulate the perineum and the woman's reproductive organs.

Qi Gong also helps women to rediscover their femininity, which is often strained during IVF treatment.

Meditation and breathing exercises develop an inner calm that encourages the embryo to implant in the womb.

QI Gong improves women's perception of their bodies.

Visualisation also helps women to become aware of their bodies and to imagine the implantation and nesting of a future baby.

The practice of Qi Gong does not replace traditional medical treatment for infertility. It provides additional help.
